Here are some highlights of what Synagro has to offer:15 days paid time off10 HolidaysMedical/Dental/Vision (within 30 days of hire)Health Saving Account (HSA) with company matchFlexible Spending Account (FSA)401(k) with company match (fully vested upon hire)Career growth and promotional opportunitiesTuition ReimbursementJOB SUMMARY Under the direction of the Area Plant Director, the Plant Manager is responsible for overall management of Synagro's GLSD Facility.This includes ownership of personnel and process safety, environmental compliance, O&M Performance and full P&L responsibility.This individual provides leadership to the GLSD Team and serves as a liaison between the District and Synagro.SUCCESS FACTORSEnsures the Facility maintains the highest standards for safety and environmental compliance performance.Ensures annual operating and P&L metrics are achieved.Takes ownership for plant operations and performance.Proactively plan and execute preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance and plan and coordinate major capital repairs to minimize equipment downtime.Build a strong relationship with the District based on trust and open communication.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSSafetyFoster a culture that promotes a safe work environment where employees have zero tolerance for unsafe conditions or actionsWork with the Team to identify and eliminate hazards wherever possible by allocating necessary resources.Ensure the Team completes all required safety training, attends monthly safety meetings and as part of the corporate hazard recognition program, submits monthly Synagro Saves.LeadershipTake Ownership. Build a culture that empowers Team members to make decisions and take ownership for their work.Promote a culture of accountability where Team members hold each other accountable to meet the plant goals, particularly around safety performance.Build strong relationships based on trust and mutual respect among the Team, with the District, and with senior leadership.Always act with integrity. Say what you will do and do what you say.Operations & MaintenanceEnsure plant operates in compliance with all contractual and permit requirements.Full P&L responsibilityInstill a continuous improvement mindset with the Team. Build consensus and lead lean initiatives.Maintain data accuracy in all reporting, CMMS and financial systemsProvide troubleshooting and engineering support for the TeamManage all maintenance and repair activities to minimize downtime and maintain contract compliance.Manage capital budgets. Recommend, justify and manage capital projects.Partner with the District for Major Capital Improvement planning.STATUS AND SCOPEDirect Reports:four Chief Operators, four Operators, one Mechanic, one Operator-MechanicReports to:Area Plant DirectorSkills and Abilities Required:Strong leadership skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to build strong relationshipsAbility to set and adjust priorities as needed to meet plant and corporate goals.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve process related problems.Ability to communicate effectively up and down the chain of command.Strong attention to detailProficient with Microsoft 365 products, CMMS, and enterprise financial systems, FIIX and NetSuite a plusKnowledge of biosolids processing as well as 503 regulations a plusCOMPETENCIESSafety Focus - Considers the safety of plant personnel first. Leads continuous improvement of plant safety performanceRelationship Building - Earns trust and respect from the GLSD Team, the District and outside Synagro personnel.Decision Making - Ability to detach, evaluate and make decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure.Priority Setting - Able to prioritize and execute tasks as necessary to achieve plant goals.Time Management - Uses time effectively and efficiently; concentrates efforts on more important priorities.Perseverance - Highly self-disciplined and pursues everything with energy, drive and a need to finish.Patience - Is tolerant with people and processes; follows established processWritten and Oral Communication - communicate clearly and conciselyQUALIFICATIONSBS in Engineering, Chemical or Mechanical preferred, or equivalent work experienceMA Grade II Municipal or higher wastewater operator's licensePossess or obtain within six months of hire OSHA 30 Certification.3+ years relevant experience in a plant environment3+ years in a leadership positionAA/EOE/M/F/D/VWe thank all individuals for their interest in Synagro however only those selected for interviews will be contacted.
