Job Description

Summary:

The Assistant Controller is responsible for maintaining accurate and organized accounting records, supporting dealership operations to optimize revenue and manage expenses, and ensuring compliance with company policies through effective internal controls.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to all departments to produce increased revenue, control expenses; contribute to customer satisfaction and excellent associate satisfaction.
  • Ensure that the accounting records are maintained in an orderly, current and accurate condition at all times.
  • Maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Recruit, supervise and develop dealership office personnel.
  • Audit the balance sheets and schedules regularly and address any possible problems while keeping Regional Controller informed of problems and potential liabilities.
  • Ensure timely completion of all financial statements, monthly work papers and reports, and resolve any issues.
  • Prepare reconciliation of all dealership balance sheet accounts and purify reconciling items every month.
  • Review every schedule in the dealership every month and make necessary corrections.
  • Prepare for asset meetings and Monthly Operating Reports.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience managing the accounting function and leading the accounting staff of an automotive dealership.
  • Intermediate computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
  • All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience managing the accounting function and leading the accounting staff of an automotive dealership.
  • Strong analytical, forecasting and budgeting skills.
  • Previous experience with ADP.
Additional Information

Compensation (Salary plus bonus):
  • $72,000 / year + month-end bonus
    • If store meets scorecard requirements
Schedule:
  • FULL-TIME
  • Hybrid schedule (1 to 2 days remote)
  • 5 days a week / 2 days off
  • Monday - Friday
  • Weekends off
