Job Summary
Manage and support the assessment of organizational needs and the strategy, design, implementation and evaluation of programs to facilitate professional development and continuous learning for team members. Oversee the Learning organization and ensure the application of learning curricula to the businesses. In addition, the position is responsible for developing curricula for key leadership and roles unique to the division.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
- Leads the design, development and implementation of programs, policies and strategies tailored to meet OE and Learning needs and program goals; designs and executes key programmatic elements of the OE process. Evaluates strategies and programs to measure the achievement of established goals
- Assists with the provision of expert facilitation and coaching to supervisors and managers regarding OE methods and tools, as well as learning curricula.
- Manages the talent management/succession planning and individual development planning process for executives and emerging leaders.
- Leads and provides direction for enterprise-wide performance management and talent management. Oversees development of competency models and tools used for selection/assessment. Directs learning initiatives across all lines of business with learning professionals and others with competing demands and priorities.
- Provides consultative services to the business units regarding mentoring.
- Partners with various functional and field business partners to execute their training needs as well as other learning interventions.
- Organizes and leads short- and long-term planning for OE programs. Creates implementation strategies for major initiatives across all lines of business.
- Prepares budgetary recommendations that meet departmental goals and provide for effective management of resources.
- Problems are typically defined by higher level leadership. Problems are difficult. Solutions require analysis and investigation.
- Decides how to achieve planned results within an organization's plans, policies, and guidelines. May set or change plans/goals within respective department or area.
- May manage department via multiple layers of managers OR directly supervise a staff of professional individual contributors at the senior or technical advisor level.
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 9+ years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management/supervisory capacity.
