Shipping & Receiving Manager

Position Summary:The Shipping and Receiving Manager will provide overall leadership for the department in the areas of Personal Safety, FSQA, Productivity, Cost, and Engagement of our most valuable asset – Our People. Through direct reports, they will monitor and evaluate the production process and recommend methods to optimize product yields, equipment operation and process control while reducing waste. Engage all employees in continuous improvement and foster a positive work environment while developing a culture of ownership and accountability, including hiring, onboarding and team member development. Duties/Responsibilities:Plan and achieve daily labor utilization and efficiency through crewing and task assignment.Maintain daily and accurate inventory levels.Ensure receipt documentation of raw materials and manage COA compliance.Ensure temperature upon receipt and shipping are within the specified range by product.Ensure FIFO of raw materials and finished goods.Conduct documentation audit of completeness and accuracy. Coordinate current and projected fresh and frozen raw material needs with procurement. Manage off site inventory levels for accuracy and FIFO rotation. Ensure shipments are complete, error and damage free.Maintain scanner usage for receipt and shipping. Maintain product inventory location.Set clear priorities and align resources to deliver against business and regulatory requirements in the areas of safety, quality, financial controls, and business initiatives. Diagnose equipment, ingredients and packaging issues. Ensure each manufacturing area is maintained in accordance with BRC standards. Ensure security of employees, facilities and information systems by following and enforcing established security procedures. Ensure clear and concise communication to all levels in the organization. Ensure regular safety inspections are conducted in all manufacturing areas. Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Leads with trust and integrityEffective listener and team player Strong knowledge of food manufacturing, FDA/USDA, OSHA and EPA regulations desired Able to work effectively with others, have good interpersonal and leadership skills Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Highly organized, critical thinker able to multi-task Able to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment Strong computer skills including experience with SAP and Microsoft Office. Continuous improvement and lean manufacturing mindset with the ability to lead and support multiple projects strongly preferred Education and Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field preferred.7-10 years’ experience in shipping and receiving management. Food Production, Food Safety, HAACP related experience and training. Microsoft Office Professional Suite, MRP or SAP or other computerized systems dealing with inventory and order processing. Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: Prolonged periods standing and up to four hours per shift sitting and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.Must be able to traverse facility on unforgiving surfaces.Must be able to work in hot and cold climates and in an environment with many noises and odors.AcknowledgmentThis job description outlines the general nature and level of work required of any employee assigned to this position.
