UM Campus Dining invites applications for four (4) Sous Chefs to work in the new Lodge Dining Center.

We are excited to have opened The Lodge Dining Center in August 2024 This state-of-the-art facility features seven unique micro-restaurants that celebrate an expansive array of food and cultures. Designed to comfortably accommodate over 900 students, faculty, staff and guests; the facility features roof decks with views of the Oval and a floor-to-ceiling fireplace.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Professional supervisory experience
  • Experience with high volume food service operations or fast past private food service operations
  • Experience with display cooking and presenting menus to guests
  • Experience with effectively training employees
  • ServSafe certification or the ability to obtain certification within one (1) year of employment (Employer Provides)
  • Must have the ability to maintain a positive attitude and be able to work within a diverse workforce
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and two (2) years of a food service experience in kitchens, preferably with high-volume operations
  • Experience with recipe and menu development and production of high-quality food

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Position Number: NEW
Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Shifts varies upon unit need, 12 months/year
Probationary Period: Six months minimum
