Grand Junction, United States Intermountain Health Full time
R107664 locations St. Marys Regional Hospital time type Full time posted on Posted Today job requisition id R107664 Job Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. You.   You bring your body, mind, heart and spirit to your work as a Registered Nurse in Radiology.   Your compassion is tangible: whether your patient is 18 or 85, they feel it in the hand they hold. Families feel it in your prayers. Colleagues feel it in your support.  You know when to move quickly. When to sit quietly. When to laugh loudly.   You’re great at what you do, but you want to be part of something even greater. Because you believe that while individuals can be strong, the right team is invincible.  Us.   St. Mary’s Medical Center is part of Intermountain Health, a faith-based, nonprofit healthcare organization that focuses on person-centered care. Our 346-bed regional medical center is in Grand Junction, one of the most beautiful places on earth. Our mission is to bring health and hope to the poor, the vulnerable, our communities and each other.   Practice in our advanced medical imaging department where our radiologists offer expertise in neurology, musculoskeletal, emergency and breast imaging.  Big city acuity in a beautiful mid-sized community with low cost of living  As the only acute care hospital for 250 miles, cases at St. Mary’s are diverse, and plentiful    Benefits are one of the ways we encourage health for you and your family. Our generous package includes medical, dental and vision coverage. But health is more than a well-working body: it encompasses body, mind and social well-being. To that end, we’ve launched a Healthy Living program to address your holistic health. Healthy Living includes financial incentives, digital tools, tobacco cessation, classes, counseling and paid time off. We also offer financial wellness tools and retirement planning.  We.   Together we’ll align mission and careers, values and workplace. We’ll honor each other’s dignity and surpass the standards we set. We’ll encourage joy, demand safety and take pride in our integrity.   We’ll laugh at each other’s jokes (even the bad ones). We’ll hello and high five. We’ll celebrate milestones and acknowledge the value of spirituality in healing.  We’re proud of what we know, which includes how much there is to learn. And instead of placing blame we’ll learn and grow together.    Your day.  As a Registered Nurse you know that every day is different, which is why you need to know how to:   Recognize, assess and address patients’ psychological and physical needs  Comply with evaluation, treatment, documentation and professional guidelines  Provide IV access, administer medication and evaluate patients during procedures  Communicate compassionately and effectively  Your experience.  We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:   ASN or BSN from an accredited program  BSN required within 4 years of hire unless you have 15+ years of uninterrupted, acute hospital experience  Current Colorado RN license  Excellent IV and observation skills, required  Current BLS and ACLS certifications via the American Heart Association  Preferred Qualifications: Previous Critical Care nursing experience Two years of nursing experience in a comparable setting  Additional Details: PALS required within 6 months of start date Schedule: Full time, 4 hours/wk, days On-call requirement: 30 minute response time, overnight and weekend on-call requirement Your next move.  Now that you know more about being a Registered Nurse on our team we hope you’ll join us. At St. Mary’s Medical Center you’ll reaffirm every day how much you love this work, and why you were called to it in the first place.  Physical Requirements: Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc) May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
