SCOPE OF ROLE
The Manufacturing/Process Engineer is responsible for implementing and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process. Their duties include researching automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency and planning factory layouts to optimize production. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, competency and/or ability required to fulfill these duties. Other duties as assigned.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluates quality control processes and makes recommendations for improvements in quality control
  • Analyzes production processes, schedules, methods, and other data and then provides management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process
  • Ensures that the company’s manufacturing processes are in compliance with all government laws and regulations
  • Reviews and calculates labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making
  • Analyzes and plans workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency
  • Coordinates equipment maintenance and repair services and makes sure that the manufacturer’s procedures and instructions are followed in order to keep production equipment operational
  • Eliminates waste in the manufacturing process and applies innovative systems to improve company workflows
  • Problem solves and communicates effectively with work team
  • Contributes ideas for continuous improvement of workflow and processes
  • Follows all safety guidelines and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering
  • Process/manufacturing experience with sheet metal, weldments, and large assemblies
  • Experience with ERP systems, VISIO, AutoCAD
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Performs and understands calculations used in manufacturing process including but not limited to cycle times, takt times, standard work, VSM
  • ISO 9000 experience
  • Interpersonal, Leadership, and Technical Skills
  • Analytical skills to properly interpret data
  • Hands-on and detail-oriented but also able to see the big picture
  • High energy and able to handle conflict
