About the JobAutry Grading is looking for experienced and entry level general laborers to work hand in hand with equipment operators and utility foreman to complete projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  •  Must be committed to providing and promoting a safe work environment;
  • Communicate with Foreman as to the daily job specifications;
  • Ability to follow directions;
  • Performs various unskilled task which are associated with underground utility operations.  This includes but not limited to shoveling stone or dirt; mixing mortar & concrete; laying block; greasing pipe; adjusting manholes & valve boxes...
  • Uses various tools such as a shovel, post hole diggers, rake, lute, broom, pick, hammer, saw, pneumatic hammer, drill, tamp and concrete saw;
  • May operate a vibratory roller, remote control operated trench rollers, jumping jacks, plate tamps, jack hammers, and pneumatic tamp;
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions and perform other duties as assigned;

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • The job requires the following motions: standing, walking, stretching, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching and squatting;
  • Requires regular lifting of or in excess of 25 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds;
  • Walking and standing may require a full day of 9 to 12 hours;
  • Will be exposed to sometimes extreme hot and cold temperatures; and
  • Jobs requires riding to and from projects in various locations within our geographic region. If driving a company vehicle, company policies on drivers must be met;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check;
  • Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document;
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times;
  • Report to work at the designated start time;
  • Be able to work long hours when required;
  • Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook;
  • Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required;
  • Prefer a valid NC Drivers License
