The Development Specialist will be responsible for helping create and oversee fundraising programs that drive revenue and build a strong community supporting the mission of New Leaf Behavioral Health. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the fundraising basics and feel passionate about exploring new, creative partnership models designed to improve engagement and accelerate growth.
Responsibilities:
  • Establish and monitor revenue goals and expenditures for all areas of development including individual and corporate giving, peer-to-peer fundraising, grants and foundations, and events.
  • Cultivates and sustains relationships with individual and corporate donors, improving existing relationships and creating new opportunities for engagement through research, identification, cultivation of pitches, and stewardship plans.
  • Collaborates with the Executive Director and to design campaigns, generate new leads, and identify new major donors and other key partners.
  • Develops timely and transparent communication plans for all donor segments ensuring that publications, social media, and websites include donor-focused content and reporting.
  • Actively pursues and reports on grant activities in a comprehensive and timely way, including the use of an organizational calendar.
  • Supports the writing of blogs, press releases, fundraising and advocacy tool kits as well as other promotional materials to increase the awareness and impact of New Leaf Behavioral Health including subscribers to the organization’s newsletter.
  • Oversees the organization’s donor database and processes and creates CRM strategies that improve the automation and transparency of all fundraising and grant-related activities.
Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of relevant fundraising experience preferred.
  • Individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit and good relationship-building skills who do not have previous fundraising experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with individuals and organizations from all backgrounds.
  • Awareness of funders and available grant opportunities in the area.
  • Experience with CRM platforms and other related software applications.
  • Preferred with a strong interest and understanding of the mental health community including recent trends and opportunities.
This is a full-time position with flexible hours and with some parts of this position may be able to be performed remotely.
