The success of Joe’s Kids reputation and ultimate ability to achieve its mission rests on the cultivation of branding, donors, donor trust, confidentiality and effective communication.  This position requires creativity, innovation and a close working relationship with the Executive Director and Board of Directors.   

Essential Job Functions:
  • Effectively communicate the mission, primary objectives, and needs of Joe's Kids in both speech and written form.
  • Develop fundraising strategies to meet operational and capital needs.
  • Plan, budget, monitor, and report on success of all fundraising activities. 
  • Coordinate all details of Joe's Kids fundraising events:
  • Compile and develop written material for grant applications and follow up on all corresponding grant requirements.
  • Recruit, retain, and recognize donors, both corporate and individual.
  • Develop and maintain the donor database.
  • Serve as a community liaison by attending community events, meetings, or conferences to promote organizational goals or solicit donations or sponsorships.
  • Create content and produce materials such as posters, newsletters and website to promote, market, or advertise Joe's Kids services and events.
  • Manage Joe's Kids social media accounts to promote our services, success stories and events.
  • Develop and maintain media contact lists.
  • Write speeches, press releases, or other promotional materials to increase awareness of the mission, objectives, and fundraising needs of the organization.
  • Conduct research to identify the goals, net worth, history of charitable donations, or other data related to potential donors, potential investors, or general donor markets.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (preference given to degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Affairs, Non-profit Management, or related area)
  • Minimum of (3) years of experience in non-profit fundraising preferred
  • Computer proficient with experience using online databases and other sources to locate biographical, financial, and philanthropic information.
  • A solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of special event planning and management.
  • Skilled in handling, directing, and prioritizing multiple complex assignments or projects.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions; and effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Self-motivated, detailed oriented, and highly organized.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Enthusiasm and dedication to the mission of Joe's Kids.
