We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to control and monitor our expenses. You will be receiving and verifying invoices, processing payments and performing account reconciliations.

To ensure success as an accounts payable specialist, you should exhibit sound knowledge of best practices in accounting and experience in a similar role. An accomplished accounts payable specialist will be someone whose accounting expertise translates into optimized expense control processes.  Construction experience is a plus.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborating with co-workers and third-party vendors to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial data.
  • Receiving, processing, verifying, tracking and reconciling invoices.
  • Comparing system reports to balances and verifying entries.
  • Charging expenses to accounts and job costing.
  • Verifying vendor accounts, paying vendors, and resolving invoice, or payment discrepancies.
  • Handling payments in an organized and timely manner.
  • Preparing and maintaining Excel spreadsheets.
  • Reconciling account transactions with the general ledger.
  • Managing general ledger journal entries and credit card and bank account reconciliation.
  • Performing recordkeeping and preparing financial reports.
  • Keeping informed of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting. Assisting with audit support as necessary.
  • Assisting in streamlining the accounts payable process.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Managing certificates of insurance for subcontractors.
  • Preparing regular reports for management.
  • Assisting with past due or denied invoices.
  • Assist as back-up for Administrative Assistant upon their absence.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related.
  • At least 2 years experience as an accounts payable specialist, or similar.
  • Advanced competency in accounting and business management software, such as Quickbooks and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounts payable principles, accounting standards, and industry regulations.
  • Knowledge of construction cost accounting and related financial procedures.
  • Extensive experience in account reconciliation.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Great time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
This position is full-time, Monday through Friday (7:30 am until 4:30 pm) in our Suwanee, GA office.
