Outpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

- $80-$85/hour (based on experience)

Position Overview:
The Outpatient Medical Provider conducts medical and psychiatric evaluations at Sandstone Care’s outpatient center. They will be part of an integrated team that provides services at PHP, IOP, and OP levels of care. The provider will be responsible for patient care in both the co-occurring and Primary Mood Disorder tracks. They are responsible for medication management and when necessary, individual, group, and family sessions with clients. Coordinates the treatment of clients assigned, and develops treatment goals alongside the multi-disciplinary team. The goal modality for outpatient care is in-person services; however virtual services may be permitted to some degree.
Training & Experience:
- PMHNP or. PA with Psych CAQ
- Licensed Practitioner in the state of Virginia
- All direct care staff must be CPR-certified prior to beginning employment
- An active DEA License preferred
- Previous experience with substance abuse treatment is required; preferred experience with a treatment facility in the detox, residential, partial hospitalization (“PHP”), and/or intensive outpatient (“IOP) setting
- Ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, including experience with clients from the age of 13 to 30
- Must feel comfortable working independently
Other Duties & Responsibilities of the Position:
- Contribute to a high-performing culture, focused on partnering with clients as we inspire and empower change
- Identifies/provides education to patients/families about current and potential health problems, the treatment plan, self-care, and prevention to achieve independence and maximum wellness
- Provide medication management services for clients as needed.
- Adhere to all aspects of the clinical program’s policies and procedures to ensure quality performance and assist the Program Director in any quality improvements that may be necessary
- Contribute to client utilization reviews and medical necessity discussions with insurance payers as needed
- Partner with the clinical team to provide in-service and educational information to family members to support an understanding of dual diagnosis/addictions and treatment strategies
- To consistently exercise good judgment and adequate emotional stability in evaluating situations and making decisions despite the pressures of deadlines or the occurrence of unexpected stressful events
