Summary:Product Development and Engineering has the Regional responsibility for bearings and units. As part of the SKF Technology Development business unit, Product Development and Engineering plays a decisive role in defining the regional products, in coordination with the central teams and the global and local product line management.  Product Development and Engineering translates market trends and customer needs into new, long term and sustainable solutions, by defining, developing and maintaining the product technical data and ensuring the up to date product technical knowledge is used to bring value to SKF customers and employees.

We are now looking for a new member to join our Product Engineering Team Ball Bearing, Draftsperson Ball Bearing.
Product Engineering Ball Bearing supports the daily business with technical product expertise and finished product level specifications. Our team has many vital responsibilities that enable new products and variants to be delivered to the regional market. We enable smooth handling of product requests from the customers by providing specifications, product data and new solutions.  This position will work cross-functionally with Application Engineers and Product Line Management.

Responsibilities:
  • Support Product Development and Product Engineering activities with e.g. proposal drawings, assembly drawings, and component drawings in 2D and 3D.
  • Execute design requests and engineering tasks with priority to customer enquiries.
  • Use and maintain design tools for parametric design of bearing variants and design automation.
  • Use digital tools to improve and streamline Engineering tasks.
  • Work with / develop & maintain generic bearing 3D CAD models for design verification and creation of finished drawings
  • Support ICR and Engineering change implementations on a product design level, as per regional demand and in coordination with the central teams.
  • Assuring manufacturability and robustness of product, to fit application specific requirements.
  • Assuring effective alignment with process development and manufacturing capabilities. (present and future)
 Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in drafting, product engineering, or similar environment.
  • A Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Technical University Degree or proven work experience in mechanical system design that can add value to the department both now and in the future.
  • Broad technical understanding and interest.
  • Good communication skill and good knowledge of English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Tools requirements:
    • CREO - have good knowledge about parametric design and generic models.
    • PDM Link knowledge.
    • SKF internal standards and databases on product specification.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is not required but would be favorably considered.
