Talis Group’s client is a leading business litigation firm, renowned for litigating groundbreaking cases in areas such as affirmative action, land use, lender liability, and civil rights. As zealous advocates, they are committed to unparalleled client service and consistently deliver outstanding results, earning them a prestigious roster of regional and international clients. With their continued expansion, they're now seeking another Associate with 2-5 years of commercial litigation experience to join their team. This position offers work life balance and flexibility with expectations of 1650 billables. Highlighted Duties:
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies and case preparation.
  •  Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  •  Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and mediations.
  •  Manage all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, conducting depositions, and preparing witnesses.
  •  Communicate with clients to provide legal advice, updates on case progress, and guidance on legal matters.
  •  Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies and tactics.
  •  Attend court hearings and proceedings, advocating for clients' interests effectively.
  •  Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation.
  •  Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  •  Stay current with developments in relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.

Highlighted Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  •  Admission to the Kentucky State Bar and eligibility to practice law in the state.
  •  2-5 years of experience in commercial litigation
  •  Strong understanding of civil procedure, evidence, and litigation tactics.
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  •  Ability to conduct legal research efficiently and effectively using various resources.
  •  Experience managing discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests and taking depositions.
  •  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  •  Professional demeanor and ability to interact confidently with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
  •  Willingness to travel for court appearances and client meetings, as required.
