Certified Pathology Assistant

- Assist in collecting and preparing tissue samples for pathological examination and processing biopsies.
- Conduct detailed gross examinations and provide documentation for further analysis.
- Assist in autopsies, including preparations, recording findings, and collecting samples.
- Capture high-quality images of specimens for documentation.
- Maintain equipment, and supplies, and ensured safety and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in quality control to ensure accurate laboratory results.
- Occasionally interact with patients for information collection or procedure explanations.
- Accurately document findings and prepare reports for pathologists and radiologists.
- Work with healthcare professionals to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Stay updated on radiologic technology and participate in continuing education.
- Ensure compliance with CA DPH regulations and maintain licensures, participate in training, and oversee regulatory tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pathology Assistance or related field.
- Certification from a recognized Pathologists’ Assistant program (such as the American Association of Pathologists' Assistants) or the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pathology Assistant, preferably in a radiology setting.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Current CPR Card issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- Must have proof of MMR, Varicella vaccinations, or titers.
- Proof of TB/PPD or Chest X-ray within the past 12 Months
- Current Annual Health Clearance
- Reliable source of transportation
