Summary of Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist in collecting and preparing tissue samples for pathological examination and processing biopsies.
  • Conduct detailed gross examinations and provide documentation for further analysis.
  • Assist in autopsies, including preparations, recording findings, and collecting samples.
  • Capture high-quality images of specimens for documentation.
  • Maintain equipment, and supplies, and ensured safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in quality control to ensure accurate laboratory results.
  • Occasionally interact with patients for information collection or procedure explanations.
  • Accurately document findings and prepare reports for pathologists and radiologists.
  • Work with healthcare professionals to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Stay updated on radiologic technology and participate in continuing education.
  • Ensure compliance with CA DPH regulations and maintain licensures, participate in training, and oversee regulatory tasks.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pathology Assistance or related field.
  • Certification from a recognized Pathologists’ Assistant program (such as the American Association of Pathologists' Assistants) or the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pathology Assistant, preferably in a radiology setting.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Current CPR Card issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Must have proof of MMR, Varicella vaccinations, or titers.
  • Proof of TB/PPD or Chest X-ray within the past 12 Months
  • Current Annual Health Clearance
  • Reliable source of transportation
