Account Payable Clerk

Salary: $60-65k.
Subordinates:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Enter vendor invoices into accounting system.
- Enter new vendors and new jobs into the accounting system.
- Maintain and updates subcontractors file including securing insurance certificates and executed contract(s).
- Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
- Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
- Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
- Calculates and reports sales tax based on paid invoices.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Computer skills, including at least Word and Excel.
- Honesty, integrity, and a strong desire to succeed.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deal tactfully in human issues with colleagues; and
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
- Must be able to learn other accounting software systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required; Business or Accounting degree preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
