About the Job:KC Beauty Academy is looking for an enthusiastic full-time Cosmetology Instructor who is passionate about teaching and can act as a motivator and mentor to our students. We are looking for a strong candidate to teach our senior-level students as well as supervise the student clinic.

We are a small school nestled between the arts district and Little Tokyo in Downtown LA.

Because of our small size and intimate classroom settings, there are a lot of opportunities to help our cosmetology program grow and have a lasting impact on the students being taught.

Class Schedule:
Tuesday - Saturday: 10 am-7 pm

Duties:
  • Teaching the cosmetology curriculum by preparing lesson plans.
  • Follow and supplement published lesson plans from Milady's Course Management Guide. Present the information without reading from the text or lesson plan.
  • Conduct practical evaluations after each subject matter has been taught and grade practical skills according to established grading criteria and record grades as required.
  • Supervising students in the classroom and on the clinic floor.
  • Preparing students to pass the state board exam and work in salons/spas.
  • Participate in various administrative duties such as attending meetings, and recording grades.
  • Keep up with your annually required 12 hours of continuing education requirements. (4 Hours in Teaching Methodologies and 8 Hours in your area of expertise).

Job Requirements:
  • CA Cosmetology license.
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of haircutting, coloring, and styling.
  • Minimum of three years of teaching or salon setting.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time
