A 5-star resort seeks an experienced, highly detailed, motivated, and team-oriented full-time Laundress/Housekeeper to manage daily laundering services and ensure proper care and maintenance of wardrobe in addition to working alongside additional housekeepers to maintain their primary residence and additional properties. This candidate will manage all laundry duties including organization/cleaning, keeping track of inventory, ordering supplies, washing and ironing clothing and linens, and dry-cleaning tracking. The candidate will also assist with housekeeping duties and food and beverage for dinner parties and special events. The Laundress/Housekeeper should easily take direction and work collaboratively as a team while being a self-starter who takes initiative. This candidate should have a keen eye for detail, be adaptable in their approach to laundering and housekeeping, and mindful of guest preferences. This position consists of a five-day flex schedule (including Saturday) over seven days of service with flexibility to work longer hours as needed. If needed, relocation and staff housing are provided.

$30 an hour plus benefits and generous PTO

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
  • Completing laundry including hand washing, dry cleaning, minor mending, ironing, steam-ironing, and managing wardrobes throughout the residence 
  • Change linens and gather used linens such as sheets or towels for laundering 
  • Extensive wardrobe organization, maintaining closets to perfection; folding and hanging, etc. 
  • Managing list of garments which have been sent out for professional service 
  • Maintain inventory, linens, bedding, towels, medicines, and toiletries 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of laundry room 
  • General housekeeping, deep cleaning, organizing, and upkeep including seasonal and scheduled tasks 
  • Ability to perform museum-quality cleaning with proficiency in special surfaces (wood, glass, leather, antiques, silver, etc.) 
  • Monitor both indoor and outdoor of residence (cleaning all surfaces, removing cobwebs, and sweeping front stoop and outdoor gathering areas) 
  • Drink service and food service 
  • Notify Manager on any damages or need for repair/replacement 
  • Superior organization skills applied to all aspects of the job and a willingness to go above and beyond 
  • Assist with organization of all pantries and storage areas 
  • Assist with special projects and events as needed including guest relations, greeting, and hospitality service (both set up and break down as well) 
  • Maintain residence and assist with guest care, keep all public spaces up to Principals’ standards 
  • Travel to secondary East Coast property as needed 
  • Adhere to the established standard of conduct and house rules, procedures, and policies 
  • Additional Laundry attendant/Housekeeper responsibilities and duties as needed and requested by the family 
Requirements:  
  • Strong command of English language; exceptional communication skills both written and verbal 
  • Excellent references required from both current and previous employers 
  • Minimum 1+ years housekeeping, service or hospitality experience working in a similar position(s) with a strong PREFERENCE for past yacht experience 
  • Poised and professional in both mindset and manner; hospitality-oriented  
  • Always work with the utmost discretion and confidentiality, upholding standards/procedures at all times 
  • Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities 
  • Above and beyond attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team 
  • Demonstrate high-level emotional intelligence: willing and able to take direction well 
  • Thorough knowledge of detailed household cleaning, cleaning supplies, organization, laundry, food service, and wardrobe maintenance 
  • Ability to work independently and successfully with other staff members 
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull and pull required load (approximately 30 lbs.) and stamina to work long periods of time 
  • Comfortable and willing to work in a home with pets and children 
  • Flexibility in scheduling with the willingness to work additional hours as needed 
  • Willingness to travel to secondary East Coast residence as needed is preferred  
  • Valid Driver’s License and car
