Mankato Refrigeration is a leading HVACR service provider in the Mankato, MN area. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality heating, ventilation, and refrigeration solutions to commercial clients throughout southern Minnesota. We are looking for a dedicated Bookkeeper to join our team and help us maintain accurate financial records and transactions.
Job Summary:
As a commercial refrigeration Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial records of the business, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. You will work closely with our management team to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial data to support strategic business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare and process payroll, including timekeeping, tax withholdings, and benefits administration.
- Generate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for management review.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Monitor financial transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Handle sales tax filings and other required tax documents.
- Work with external accountants or auditors as needed.
- Provide support for general office administration, such as data entry and record keeping.
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members to resolve financial issues.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in the HVAC or construction industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional accounting qualifications or certifications are a plus.
