Position Title: Trial Chemical Mill Operator

Location: Custom Processing Services, 2 Birchmont Drive, Reading, PA 19606

Schedule: Second shift, 2:00pm to 10:00pm, Monday through Friday. Overtime as needed on weekends.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain jet mills to reduce the particle size of various chemical formulations through fine grinding and milling processes. You will be trained on safe operation of machine models.
  • Perform trial manufacturing runs to test and validate new chemical product recipes developed by R&D. This includes documenting process parameters, quality checks, yields, and sample collections for analysis.
  • Monitor and continuously adjust mill  parameters like air pressure, particle classifiers, and throughput rates to achieve product specifications around particle size distribution, chemical purity, and output quantities.
  • Perform routine maintenance on mills including parts replacements, cleaning, and calibrations. You will work with maintenance technicians on routine repairs as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with shift engineers to identify areas for process improvement through data analysis, experimentation, troubleshooting, and implementation of enhanced Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain thorough production and quality control records in accordance with ISO 9001 and other applicable regulatory standards. Proficiency with our MES system is preferred but training will be provided.
  • Perform additional production operator duties as needed and assist with weekend overtime trials under the direction of shift leads.

To qualify, the ideal candidate will possess mechanical aptitude and experience operating manufacturing equipment, preferably in a regulated industry. Familiarity with fine chemical production processes and quality systems like ISO is a plus but not required for this temporary learning opportunity.
