We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our construction and electrical projects by accurately estimating costs and providing valuable insights for project planning and execution. If you have a strong background in construction and electrical estimating and are skilled in project management, negotiation, and cost control, we encourage you to apply.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Related Field (preferred but not required)
  • Proficiency with takeoff software, i.e.: BlueBeam, OnScreen, Planswift, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft (Outlook, Project, Word, Excel)
  • Must be able to travel throughout Long Island

Duties:
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction and electrical projects
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
  • Utilize construction management software, such as Contractor Foreman, to create detailed estimates
  • Research and obtain pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Evaluate bids from subcontractors and negotiate pricing as needed
  • Create comprehensive bid proposals for submission to clients
  • Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and make adjustments as necessary
  • Collaborate with the project team to identify value engineering opportunities

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in construction and electrical estimating or related fields
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes
  • Proficiency in cost control and budgeting techniques
  • Familiarity with Contractor Foreman, a plus but not required
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong negotiation skills
