Medical Assistant Job Description:Our Medical Assistants play a key role in serving a wide range of patients from all walks of life. Our employees enjoy a positive culture that emphasizes work-life balance and regular work schedules.
Job Summary:Medical Assistants provide healthcare services typically performed by a physician, under the supervision of a physician. Conduct reviews of vital signs and previous treatments (if any), may provide treatment, and counsel patients. In addition to maintaining and developing a high degree of expertise in medical care, your essential job functions include:
Medical Assistant Primary Job Duties:
- Analyze patient files, data, and notes to prepare files for doctor review for a client visit.
- Examine patients and conduct vitals (BP, Temp. & Weight) prior to appointment.
- Conduct specialized tests including, InBody, Right Eye, ANS, and Balance.
- Conduct basic diagnostic tests including, pregnancy tests, throat cultures, and urine samples.
- Order medical supplies or equipment.
- Provide health and wellness advice to patients, program participants, or caregivers.
- Record patient medical histories in the EMR system in accordance with HIPAA regulations and company policies.
- Prepare supplies for and support doctors for procedures, including wellness exams, pellet insertions, and ozone injections.
- Sterilize equipment and prepare sterile trays.
Medical Assistant Primary Attributes and Skills:
- Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
- Must maintain a level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong time management and organizational skills are required.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Must be able to work well under pressure at times.
- Must be self-motivated, a quick learner, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to remain open to learning new things is crucial.
- The single most important attribute of a Medical Assistant is a positive attitude.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Must have graduated from an accredited educational program for medical assistants.
- Must have a minimum of two years of MA experience.
- Maintaining a valid BLS/CPR Certification is required.
