Permit Expeditor

Permit Expediter ensures that permitting conforms to the requirements of all appropriate regulatory agencies for electrical sign manufacturing companies.
Responsibilities:
- Review projects received from Operations Manager that are ready for permit and compile information necessary for the permit process.
- Order outside engineering specifications if needed.
- Go to various city hall or Department of State Architecture locations to pull permits as needed for in-house work.
- Communicate to sales all changes or revisions that need to be completed during the permit process. Ensure that drawings be changed to reflect those changes by communicating with the art department.
- Establish and maintain a schedule on an Excel spreadsheet of all permits in-house. The schedule must be updated a minimum of twice a week.
- Set up field inspections when requested by Installation Manager or any other special inspections as needed.
- Complete the Permit Report for each project and put a copy in the project file within 2 days of acquiring permit.
- Participate in weekly Work In Progress meetings.
- Keep workload balanced by using outside permit services as needed.
- Other duties as assigned and specified by sales or supervisory staff.
- Keep all information on an accessible spreadsheet and update it daily.
- May be required to visit job sites or governmental agencies.
- Have a company-provided vehicle washed once a week using company-provided car wash vouchers for a local car wash?
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (minimum qualifications)
- Must have at least 1 year of experience in a support role.
- Computer literate (email, Word, Excel).
- Good written and communication skills.
- Ability to take photos and use tape measures.
- Must have a valid California driver's license and a good driving record.
