Equipment Specialist Job Description.
As an Equipment Specialist, you will be given the opportunity to learn from some of our very best manufacturing personnel. As new skills are acquired and position steps are reached, your achievements will be compensated monetarily.
Basic Qualifications to Succeed:
  • Mechanically inclined and able to learn new skills within a standard timeline.
  • Comfortable around heavy equipment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must demonstrate excellent time management skills.
  • Mentally and physically perform at a high pace with a sense of urgency while maintaining company expectations of Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
  • Basic Math Knowledge and ability to read a tape measure.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Possess strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work overtime.

Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18+ years old.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must pass drug screen, and physical abilities test.

Equipment Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Learn to safely and efficiently operate various pieces of processing equipment.
  • Effectively learn and apply established quality control procedures.
  • Effectively execute position responsibilities.
  • Read and follow specification documents and manuals.
  • Consistently work to develop or enhance skill set.
  • Effectively work with co-workers and establish a team approach to achieve company goals and expectations.
  • Follow all company rules and policies.
  • Successfully work in multiple areas of the plant and be able to perform to expectations.
  • Reports to the Production manager, taking technical direction from Maintenance staff.
  • Acting as primary contact for machine operator adjustment requests.
  • Perform preventive measures while operating the machines such as scheduled lubrication tasks.
  • Attend daily team meetings regarding production schedule support anticipating timely changeovers on multiple packaging lines each day.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for equipment changeovers.
  • Adjust packaging equipment for maximum overall equipment efficiency. (Quality, performance, and availability).
  • Track all equipment settings for each product and maintain an accessible database for reference and training.
  • Develop and conduct job training with team members.
  • Develop and implement sanitary operator tool inventory for each packaging line.

Educational Qualification.
  • Candidates applying for an equipment specialist job must at least possess a high school degree or diploma and preferably a trade school diploma or equivalent.

Key Development Skills:
  • Develop and demonstrate expert knowledge about packaging equipment and components.
  • Develop and demonstrate expert hands-on experience in adjusting packaging equipment and completing timely changeovers.
  • Develop and demonstrate expert knowledge of all packaging equipment through reading comprehension of equipment manuals.
  • Demonstrate functional knowledge of maintenance CMMS software.

Hours: 2:30pm - 1am M-TH.
