Carpenter - Heavy Log & Timber

About the Job
Copper Point Group (A Lamoreaux Design & Construction Company) is seeking a Carpenter for heavy log and timber construction for resort and residential projects in the Cedar City area.  You must have a minimum of 5 years of construction experience in carpentry, and be at a journeyman level or equivalent.

Responsibilities include:

• Residential and Commercial Log and Heavy Timber Building construction.
• New Construction and Remodels.

Desired Construction Skills/Expertise:

• Heavy log trusses, heavy log/timber layout and framing.
• Log and timber scribing and coping.
• Log timber skills with chainsaw, sawsall, grinder saw.
• Joints and connection experience.
• Jigs and fixture experience to fabricate trusses and other elements.
• Log truss fabrication.
• Portable sawmill operation for log preparation.
• Modular construction experience desired.
• Framing, trim work and siding.
• Speed/framing square knowledge, degrees, roof pitches, math skills for layout.
• Quality fit and finish.
• Good physical condition and stamina.
