ABOUT THE ROLE:
  • Tax Preparers play a crucial role in preparing income tax returns for individuals and businesses.
  • They identify potential tax credits and liabilities, ensuring accurate and timely filing of returns in compliance with regulations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Prepare current and past tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
  • Gather necessary documentation and record relevant information.
  • Maintain client files according to company procedures.
  • Review financial records and ensure compliance with tax laws.
  • Utilize technology and government resources for accurate information.
  • Manage caseloads efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Identify deductions and credits to maximize tax savings for clients.
  • Collaborate with Case Managers, Enrolled Agents, and Tax Attorneys.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and resolve technical or service-related issues.
  • Assist case managers in collecting information for tax returns.
  • Package and mail tax returns to relevant authorities.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:
  • 3 years of tax preparation experience.
  • Active CTEC license and Certified Tax Preparer/PTIN holder.
  • Proficiency in both business and individual tax returns.
  • Background in business, finance, accounting, or tax preferred.
  • Knowledge of tax laws, concepts, and IRS forms.
  • Motivation to obtain additional tax credentials or certification.
  • Strong research, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with excellent communication skills.
WHAT’S NICE TO HAVE:
  • Current certified Enrolled Agent or licensed CPA.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency is advantageous.
