Job Summary:The Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers and collaborate closely with sales and production to develop accurate quotes for complex metal fabrication jobs. This role requires technical expertise, leadership ability, and a strong understanding of fabrication processes and costing.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers responsible for project design and quoting.
  • Evaluate customer specifications, drawings, and requirements to develop detailed and competitive job quotes.
  • Collaborate with sales and production teams to ensure feasibility, accuracy, and profitability of quotes.
  • Optimize quoting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay current on metal fabrication techniques, materials, and industry trends to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to meet customer expectations.
  • Utilize CAD software, ERP systems, and quoting tools to streamline operations.
  • Resolve technical challenges and provide innovative solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering department.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the metal fabrication industry, with expertise in quoting projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with prior experience managing a team.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and quoting software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Deep understanding of metal fabrication processes, materials, and cost drivers.
