The role: 
As a Floral Designer at Anita’s Garden Shop, you’ll create beautiful designs for our loyal customers and build meaningful connections with new clients. You will contribute your ideas, create new designs, and create a fresh garden shop experience for our visitors. You will be delighting people all over Jacksonville with your custom designs.

The Shop: 
Anita’s Garden Shop is a family-owned, boutique-style garden shop nestled in the Historic Avondale district. We specialize in seasonal, living flowering arrangements, planted gardens, wreaths, and faux florals. Anita’s signature style elevates all of our unique offerings and has been adorning the homes of Jacksonville for over 35 years.

Duties: 
A day in the life of a Floral Designer starts at 9 am setting up the store, making sure our customers have a true garden shop experience. Next, you’ll work your way through the shop, checking each plant and arrangement for water and quality, ensuring we offer only the best to our customers. Once the shop is looking good, you’ll check on the plants in the greenhouse as well. Throughout the day you’ll take orders, sell to customers as they shop the retail floor, create arrangements, and consult with clients. Often you will redecorate a vignette, receive and unpack new products, or organize inventory. Upon closing time, you’ll tidy the work areas, bring in the decor from out front, and close up shop. There’s rarely a dull moment and always something beautiful to be made.

Details:
The opening is for either full or part-time, in which the selected weekdays are flexible. We are a retail store, so alternating two Saturdays per month and additional hours during holiday periods are required. The regular shop hours are 9-5 M-F and 9-4 on Saturdays.

The process:

• We are looking for experienced candidates, so you may be asked for a portfolio or representation of your work.
• We will have you in for an interview at the shop, you may be asked to do some designing on the shop.
• We will hire the best candidate as soon as we can.
• To be considered you must apply in-store and highlight your relevant background and professional floral experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
