Join the City of Jacksonville's PARKS, RECREATION & COMM SVCS department as a Park Conservationist. We are seeking an experienced naturalist to provide environmental education and promote appreciation for the city's park system.

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic individual to work as a Park Conservationist. This part-time position involves researching human and natural history, planning and design functions, operating a nature center, giving talks, guiding tours, and conducting educational programs.

Responsibilities
  • Foster appreciation of natural resources in the city park system
  • Conduct educational nature programs for the public
  • Presents interpretive talks and conducts tours
  • Leads groups on walks to identify plants, animals, birds, fish, and insects
  • Cares for live collections of reptiles and amphibians
  • Maintains the interior of the Nature Center
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have one year of experience as a naturalist providing environmental education. Preferred qualifications include experience providing animal care, knowledge of Florida's Fauna and Floral, and certifications in natural resource management or a related field.
