Job description:
Miller CAT is the leading manufacturer of catalytic converter protection devices. We are looking for a New Product Design Engineer to help us rapidly expand our product line to protect more vehicles from catalytic converter theft and build our line of off-roading products. The work is exciting and highly rewarding. We are building an entire new product line in the automotive industry and partner with manufacturers like Toyota to build shields for their vehicles. We use the latest technology and top of the line machines from Amada to build our shields. An ideal candidate will be passionate about automobiles and making new products. Training is available for candidates who might not have all the required experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Help design new products such as skid plates and catalytic converter protection shields.
  • Use a 3D scanner and Solidworks to draw prototypes of new products.
  • Work with the Project Manager to catalog all parts required for new product.
  • Assist in making installation guides.
  • Consult on which metals (material and gauge) to use.
  • Redesign or edit existing products for improvements.
  • Maintain organized database of files.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of CAD and Solidworks.
  • Experience with new product development.
  • Experience with 3D scanners.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software and programs.
  • Creative and resourceful.
  • Passion and knowledge of automobiles.
  • Understands heat and aerodynamic principles.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in engineering or closely related field.
  • 2+ years related experience.
