Our Client, a well-known boutique management consulting firm, specializing in improving the performance of IT organizations is seeking their Senior Consultant of IT Strategy to join their team. The Client’s methodologies focus solely on the unique issues confronting modern IT leaders: leading with strategy, presenting the full value of IT, and improving the quantitative and qualitative results inherent to operating a large-scale business. Their clients are Fortune 500 CIO’s, with specialization in the life sciences industry.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Consultant for IT Strategy is responsible for leading complex IT transformation projects, developing and maintaining client relationships, and contributing to business growth:

Leveraging the Company’s methodologies and frameworks to support client delivery.

Working day-to-day with client liaisons to form hypothesis, provide strategic analysis, develop business insights, share best practice business operations and market research, and trend analysis.Customizing and enhancing RP IP to fit client circumstances.

Leading day-to-day execution and creative problem-solving on individual workstreams, including advanced quantitative and qualitative analysis, modeling, process improvement, and project management.

Collaborating directly with client counterparts including facilitating meetings.

Driving and executing analyses, while recommending solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technology related field. Master’s degree and certifications preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience with consulting engagements for top-tier firms like McKinsey, BCG, PWC, Deloitte, KPMG, E&Y etc.
  • A minimum of 7 years’ management consulting experience delivering engagements focused on IT strategy and operations in a regulated industry e.g., Life Sciences or Financial Services.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex consulting engagements, driving strategic impact, and achieving tangible results.
  • Expertise in IT Management and how IT organizations are structured and financed to deliver enterprise value.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Expert ability in Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and other presentation tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analyze complex problems, and craft innovative solutions.
  • Content experience with IT Strategy, IT Transformation, IT operating models and workforce strategy, global application services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Consultant’s core responsibilities include:
  • Strategic Thinking, Problem-Solving and Deliverables Creation: The Senior Consultant possesses strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, and is skilled at framing complex business problems, developing innovative solutions, and crafting actionable recommendations. The skilled Senior Consultant will be consistently analyzing and improving business processes through the effective use of Rain Partner’s team and materials.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serving as the primary point of contact for key clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction. Understanding client needs and developing tailored IT strategies and solutions to address their challenges. Providing ongoing consulting and advisory services to clients to drive their IT initiatives. Developing and presenting proposals to potential and existing clients, showcasing the Company’s unique value proposition.
  • Project Management: A successful Senior Consultant is adept at always keeping the client’s objectives, delivery quality, and scope/ in the forefront. Leading and managing consulting projects from inception to completion. Overseeing the projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, using the Company’s project management tools. Developing project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with clients and internal teams. Monitoring project progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Team Management and Collaboration: He / she as the Senior Consultant will mentor a small, highly advanced team of consulting professionals with average experience of 15+ years, providing guidance, coaching, and hands-on support with deliverables completion.

DAY IN THE LIFE ACTIVITIES:
Some regular activities that the Senior Consultant will lead include:
  • Applying the Company’s methodologies and frameworks.
  • Keeping the Company’s partners abreast of relationship and engagement progress.
  • Vigilantly staying abreast of delivery development, cross-workstream implications, client expectations.
  • Demonstrating high Emotional intelligence (“EQ”- ability to understand and manage emotions) in the client experience.
  • Engaging the Company’s resources (people and materials) as needed to fulfill deliverables.
  • Managing day-to-day execution and creative problem-solving on individual deliverables, including quantitative and qualitative analysis, process improvement.
  • Scheduling and preparing agendas, status reviews and content for regular client updates.
  • Developing a trusted relationship with key client personnel to ensure buy-in and smooth delivery.
  • Proactively addressing potential risks or client concerns as delivery progresses; providing “air cover” to remove potential roadblocks and reduces risk to delivery.

PLACEMENT:

  • This is a contract position for 6-12 months and is a remote-based position with 30% travel anticipated. This is potentially a Temp to Perm position.

Compensation: Up to $210/per hour 35 hours /4 days a week.
May include an occasional Friday, however not very often.
Candidates are responsible for providing a personal laptop with MS Office 365, high-speed internet, and workspace appropriate for private meetings.
Location: Remote with home base near a major hub.
