We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team in the dietary department at the Graystone in Altoona.

Full-Time and Part-Time Positions are available.

Part-Time Hours:
  • 6:30am-11:30am
  • 4:00pm-8:00pm
Full-Time Hours:
  • Must be able to work both.
  • 6:30am-3:00pm and 11:30am-8:00pm
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of food production and service in our organization. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about food and have experience in a fast-paced food service environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in meal preparation and food production, adhering to strict health and safety guidelines.
  • Support the dietary department in maintaining a clean and sanitized environment, including bussing tables, washing dishes, and sanitizing equipment.
  • Help with food handling and storage to ensure the quality and safety of our food products.
  • Assist with serving meals to patients, residents, or clients, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Manage time effectively to meet the demands of a busy food service environment.
  • Collaborate with the dietary team to prepare special meals for guests with dietary restrictions.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Assist in ordering and receiving food and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:
  • Experience in a dietary department or food service environment is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of dietary department practices and standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Familiarity with food production, handling, and service practices.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

This position requires the employee to work every other weekend and a holiday rotation. Applicant is required to pass a medical physical and drug screen.
