Drywall Finisher

Drywall Finisher/Tapers are required to prepare the drywall for painting or finishing within a commercial jobsite setting.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Uses drywall compound to fill in and cover joints, screws, nails, and other imperfections by way of hand tools and production tools such as bazooka, tape machine, box tools etc.
  • Sands joint compound once dry
  • Creates textured surfaces when requested.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to read shop prints/blueprints.
  • Ability to measure and cut drywall to fit in specific spaces.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work independently and with a work crew.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools required for installing drywall.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous related experience preferred; on-the-job training offered via apprenticeship program

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods standing, climbing ladders, bending, and kneeling.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
