Position Title: Safety and Human Resources Coordinator

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Safety and Human Resources Coordinator.

Position Overview: The Safety and Human Resources Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of human resources functions and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. This position requires a blend of HR expertise and a strong commitment to workplace safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resources Management:
  • Oversee all aspects of HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to support organizational objectives and foster a positive work environment.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees on HR-related issues, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
Safety Leadership:
  • Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs and initiatives to prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational hazards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
  • Provide safety training to employees and ensure that all personnel are aware of and adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and near misses, and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to workplace safety.
Compliance and Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory agencies by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit required reports and documentation related to HR and safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners, such as legal counsel and regulatory agencies, to address compliance issues and resolve disputes.
Employee Engagement and Wellness:
  • Promote employee engagement and morale through the development and implementation of initiatives that enhance workplace culture and employee satisfaction.
  • Support employee wellness programs and initiatives to promote physical and mental well-being.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Occupational Health and Safety, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) and safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST) are preferred.
  • Proven experience in human resources management, with a focus on employee relations, recruitment, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices, with experience developing and implementing safety programs in an industrial or construction environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
