Scope of Work:

Position involves competing demands, multi-tasking, working to meet deadlines, may include working past normal business hours, and helping customers with issues. Hours will be set, but are subject to change with current demands/needs. May be asked to help cross train employees in case of attendance issues. Regular attendance is crucial and essential function of this position. The position may be subject to drug testing.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for weighing customers vehicles on scales to determine fee amount.
  • Collect fees and balancing cash/checks daily.
  • Prepare daily deposits.
  • Assist customers as needed.
  • Provides Accurate Reporting of daily transactions and tonnage.
  • Provide positive relations and customer service.
  • Deals with customer complaints to help resolve issues.
  • Accurately performs accounting related duties to ensure integrity of the financial system.
  • Balances cash drawer daily using receipts, cash, and an adding machine. Must be able to identify errors and take appropriate actions to remedy and/or report to the supervisor as needed.
  • Prepare bank deposits and transfers of cash/check as needed.
  • Must safeguard all receipts of cash/check transactions.
  • Promptly and accurately receives cash, check and credit payments for solid waste disposal transactions.
  • Responds to the public’s questions regarding prices, acceptable waste, and hours of operation.
  • Maintain Scale attendant office and entrance for a clean and safe work environment.
  • Performs and assists in clerical and other duties as directed.
  • Must be able to work overtime when needed or requested.
  • The ability to work alone with minimal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • (2) years in cashiering, accounting with a background of customer service.
  • Demonstrate good computer skills with Microsoft/Windows applications I.E. (Word, Excel spreadsheets)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
