The Warehouse Lead will perform a combination of manual shipping, pulling and restock duties, but also mentoring and training Warehouse employees. This role works closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure the accurate receipt of all physical inventory and to assist in communicating stock needs to maintain appropriate stock levels to support the business. This includes properly organizing and maintaining the inventory in the warehouse and keeping it clean and always organized. This role is also responsible for all the shipping activity for the company for both sales’ fulfillment and support purposes. This position provides the highest level of customer service by ensuring that customers receive the correct products in a timely manner. This role works closely with QC keeping track of pallets that are completed with inspection and ok to replenish pulling locations and transferring overstock in the ERP system. The lead is responsible for making sure the team is following directions to get the job done. This role requires a great attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, strong written and verbal communication skills with all members of the business as well as strong time management and prioritization skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works independently and manages time to meet all requested pick and ship dates.
- Stock new deliveries into the warehouse in a timely manner.
- Leading the team to excellence and improving training that is needed.
- Review and update Standard Operating Procedures as necessary.
- Assist in designing methodologies to improve our inventory accuracy.
- Conduct continuous improvement projects to ensure an efficient operation is in place to get the job done daily.
- Understands proper packing procedures to avoid damage during transit.
- Fluent in UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager systems (Domestic and International).
- Prepares customs documentation for international shipments as required.
- Operates forklift equipment. Schedules preventative maintenance services. Maintains daily operator checklist safety log.
- Uses online TMS systems to schedule freight pick up and palletize orders.
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment of order picking and shipping.
- Conducts root cause analysis and creates corrective action measures to prevent issues from recurring.
- Looks at long term strategies and implements new processes in advance of upcoming changes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):
- Education - High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
- Must hold a valid CA driver’s license.
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Intermediate Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):
- NetSuite experience, or other ERP systems.
- Warehouse Barcode Scanners experience (for picking and shipping).
- 3 years Warehouse Lead or Supervisor experience (Mentoring and training team).
- Certified forklift operator.
- Being strategic and knowing how to run a team to success.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8-hour shift between 7:30am to 5pm. Potential Overtime and Saturdays, as needed.
Pay: $27/hr.
