Job Summary:
  • Perform Physician/Physician Extender(PE)Credentialing
  • Complete forms/applications Physician/PE Credentialing and Re-credentialing for hospitals and insurance groups.
  • Complete on-line Physician/PE CAQH Credentialing for United Healthcare.
  • Handle DEA Renewals.
  • Maintain/update physician CV’s.
  • Complete membership applications for professional associations.
  • Assist with Physician/Physician Extender(PE)Credentialing Functions
  • Assist with annual Physician/PE licensure renewals.
  • Assist and maintain Physician/PE CME records.
  • Assist with tracking MOC process for all physicians.
  • Assist with ABOS board projects.
  • Handle membership dues/renewals for professional associations and maintain record of renewals.
  • Handle physician travel plans and registrations as directed.
  • Schedule mandatory physician in services and assist with preparations for presentations.
  • Coordinate and maintain schedule for hospital meetings and BOS representation.

Physician Outlook Calendar Functions:
  • Assist with the maintenance of meetings and event entries.
  • Handle reminder notifications from calendar and by electronic device notification.
  • Perform weekly synchronization of physician PDA’s (as applicable for location).
  • Screen physician mail daily and respond as indicated.

Legal/Attorney Work Functions:
  • Schedule physician depositions and conferences for Cedar Lake office and Orange Grove office.
  • Prepare chart/films for Cedar Lake Office & Orange Grove Office depositions and conferences.
  •  Handle narrative requests and reports.
  • Handle record reviews.
  • Handle x-ray requests for legal cases.
  • Conduct article/information research as requested by physicians.
  • Maintain current hospital lists by requesting updates from medical staff offices at each hospital and distributing within BOS.
  • Maintain office paper stock and marketing collateral.
  • Assist and support marketing functions.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 – 2 years' experience in medical or related field.

Additional Requirements:
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures, knowledge of health insurance industry practices and/or medical billing procedures.
  • Experience with medical scheduling/billing systems preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal skills, and communication skills
  • Proficiency of electronic records systems preferred. Must have strong data entry skills.
  • Must be able to complete tasks with a high-degree of efficiency and accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment with frequent disruptions.
  • Must demonstrate ability to analyze data and resolve complex problems.
  • Must have the ability to work independently while managing time and workload appropriately.
  • Must be able to travel to all clinic location
