Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Generator Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of 50KVA diesel generators. This role requires a strong understanding of diesel engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components to ensure the generator operates efficiently and reliably.

Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Commissioning:
  • Install and set up 50KVA diesel generators according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure proper alignment, wiring, and connections for optimal performance.

Maintenance & Repair:
  • Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and battery checks.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in the generator.
  • Conduct load bank testing and performance evaluations to ensure generators are functioning properly.
  • Keep records of maintenance schedules and repairs.

Troubleshooting:
  • Identify and rectify issues related to engine performance, electrical faults, and fuel systems.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.

Documentation & Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, maintenance work, and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards during all operations.
  • Provide detailed reports on generator status, issues, and repairs to management.

Inventory Management:
  • Manage spare parts and tools inventory related to generator maintenance.
  • Order necessary parts and equipment to ensure availability for timely repairs.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in Diesel Mechanics is preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with diesel generators, specifically 50KVA models.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines and electrical systems.

Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine mechanics and electrical systems.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments, including outdoor and confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts as required.
