Job Description:We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated part-time Licensed Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. The APN will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive psychiatric care to individuals across the lifespan. This includes conducting assessments, diagnosing mental health disorders, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care.
This remote position is for an experienced APN to help support to our offices located in the Egg Harbor Township, Cherry Hill, and Camden, New Jersey areas. Work often includes working with at-risk youth with trauma.
Qualifications:
  • Education and Certification:
    • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatry, social work, psychology, counseling, or related field is required.
    • Active Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license in New Jersey.
    • Must have current New Jersey clinical licensure. (LCSW, LSW, LPC, LAC, LAMFT, or LMFT)
    • Board Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in psychiatric/mental health care with children and families.
    • Experience working with diverse populations and age groups is a plus.
    • Must have experience working with individuals with trauma.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
    • Proficiency in psychopharmacology and medication management.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
    • Special consideration given to candidates with background and experience in play therapy (filial, Therapy, child-centered, PCIT, MIM relationship assessment, DIR Floor time, TFCBT, PCRT, ACT, Exosystemic) and/or background and experience in expressive/art therapy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Care:
    • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments.
    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
    • Diagnose and treat a variety of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders.
    • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring efficacy and potential side effects.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare providers to ensure integrated care.
    • Provide psychoeducation to patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
    • Participate in team meetings and case discussions to develop and refine care strategies.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
    • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
    • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
    • Stay updated on best practices, clinical guidelines, and regulatory changes in psychiatric care.
  • Patient Advocacy and Support:
    • Advocate for patient access to appropriate mental health resources.
    • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
    • Address social determinants of health that may impact patient outcomes.
