Engineering Systems Inc. (ESi) is an engineering and scientific investigation and failure analysis firm. We primarily work with law firms, insurance companies, and manufacturers on small to large-scale projects to answer any technical questions they have. Our projects can entail investigating major transportation accidents, equipment failures, personal injury claims, and damage to residential or commercial structures. About This Role:Provides technical capabilities including macro/micro photography, materialography, microscopy, fixture design and fabrication, mechanical, structural, electrical, safety, automotive, and audio/visual services. Possesses exemplary interpersonal skills, able to work with a wide variety of personalities.  Capable of managing multiple tasks, with multiple staff members.  Capable of identifying areas of optimization within an organization and is successful at implementation of planned improvements. Studies, records, tests, repairs, calibrates, develops, and improves processes, products, and equipment. Capable of identifying areas of optimization within an organization and is successful at the implementation of planned improvements. Has a firm understanding of organizational hierarchy and dynamics. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate, maintain, and coordinate service of CT scanner.
  • Supports consultants in project work including photography, microscopy, spectroscopy, industrial radiography, fixture design for materials, mechanical and electrical projects.
  • Capable of communicating/working directly with internal and external clients.
  • Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
  • Capable of identifying organizational needs.
  • Capable of SOP development and/or implementation.
  • Capable of learning and operating technological equipment.
  • Capable of mentoring/training technologists.
  • Maintain required certifications.
  • Interacts with clients, maintains safety and control of area where data is being collected or test is being performed.
  • Leads routine inspections.
  • Generally able to independently determine the best way to process and view collected data.
  • Able to safely conduct field inspections and tests.
  • Skilled in the operation of test equipment.
  • Generates high-quality internal and external work product in a timely manner.
  • Maintains calibrated equipment (and associated certificates and paperwork).

Qualifications:Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent; or five+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:
  • Intermediate skills in VGSTUDIO MAX and Microsoft Office.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • X-Ray or CT Certification.

Other Skills/Abilities or Other Qualifications:
  • Comfortable working with their hands.
  • Willing to learn and operate technical equipment in the laboratory.
  • Experience developing and applying new or routine methods or techniques.
  • Mathematical aptitude and ability to operate sophisticated lab equipment.
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.
