Warehouse Manager manages all warehouse and distribution activities. Manages staff in the daily performance of their jobs, according to established processes and procedures. Ensures that orders are processed in a timely and accurate fashion and that goals and objectives are met while adhering to approved budgets. Plans and monitors space utilization and optimization. Possesses extensive knowledge of departmental processes and WMS (Warehouse Management System) and related systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. Studies and standardizes procedures to improve the efficiency of subordinates.
  • Supervises a group of associates involved in warehouse operations including interviewing, training, evaluating, scheduling, etc.
  • Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Works with temporary staffing agencies as needed. Provides clear written and oral instructions.
  • Creates, maintains, and reviews records for accuracy and compliance with established procedures. Provides reports to management as requested.
  • Manages customer returns process.
  • Reports monthly warehouse efficiency by customer.
  • Manages workflow of the warehouse according to customer requirements.
  • Controls inventory accuracy levels by conducting physical counts; and reconciling with data storage systems.
  • Investigation of receiving, inventory, picking, and shipping errors and determining root cause. Records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies. Trains staff on issue resolution. Documents findings and training of corrective action.
  • Monitors employee’s time, tracks paid time off, authorizes and forwards employee’s time sheets to the Payroll Department.
  • Responsible for scheduling outbound freight, as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA, ISO, Hazmat, and other appropriate local, state, and federal requirements and maintains the warehouse safely and efficiently.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for participating in the budget creation and compliance process. Manages and monitors cost control efforts.
  • Manages warehouse vendors after contract negotiation (propane, supplies, calibration & preventive maintenance, etc.).
  • Works to continuously improve the warehouse function as part of the Quality Management System (QMS) to maintain the current customer base and to better market our services to obtain new contracts.
  • Initiates and conducts Corrective Actions and Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations.
  • Manages warehouse cleaning and maintenance processes to ensure proper operational efficiencies.
  • Participates in management team meetings and provides reports on their areas of control.

Education/Experience & Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Three to five years of supervisory experience directing employees in a warehouse operations environment.
  • Three to five years of experience utilizing WMS & QMS Systems.
  • General knowledge of general industry Hazmat Rules and Procedures as they pertain to warehouse operations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel & Word).
  • Demonstrate ability to create and analyze operational reports in Excel.
  • Three to Five years experience operating material handling equipment both powered and manual.
  • Able to create and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • At least three years of warehouse operations experience.
