Certified Addiction Specialist/Licensed Addiction Counselor needed for a Corrections assignment in Colorado:
  • Location(s): Canon City, Pueblo, Sterling, Denver.
  • Unit(s): Corrections, Mental Health, Drug and Addiction.
  • 13-week contract to start (with the option to extend).
  • Day Shifts | Mon-Fri.
  • 40 hours per week.

Certified Addiction Specialist/Counselor Pay:
  • Gross weekly pay based on 40 hours: $1,800 - $2,080

Certified Addiction Specialist/Counselor Job Details: Provides substance use disorder treatment for inmates, including assessments, clinical interventions, and treatment planning. Duties involve monitoring treatment compliance, maintaining records, guiding non-clinical staff on behavioral health care, and ensuring continuity of care through referrals. Crisis intervention, accurate documentation, and direct communication with inmates and staff are essential to manage behavioral health needs and support transitions across facilities.

Certified Addiction Specialist/Counselor Qualifications:
  • MUST BE a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC).
  • 2 Years of mental health experience; corrections, forensics, and/or drug and addiction counseling experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, counseling, Psychology, or similar, from an accredited college or university.
