Dealership Finance Manager:

Job Summary:

The Dealership Finance Manager is responsible for managing the credit approval process for bus sales and leasing, working with outside lenders to sell financing, insurance, and aftermarket products to customers, ensuring the timely completion of funding to the customer. Must also work with and cultivate positive relationships with financial lenders to be able to offer the needed terms for every customer’s circumstance. Responsible for the accuracy of accompanying paperwork, monitoring internal credit compliance, and creating a positive customer experience while maximizing profitability to the dealership.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide recommendations and assistance to customers to arrange the financing of their purchases. 
  • Present additional product offers to customers to enhance their vehicle and ownership experience.
  • Accurately submits deals to lenders for approval, makes credit decisions, and effectively closes deals to produce the highest profitability and least risk.
  • Maintain Credit, Financing, and Insurance compliance in accordance with federal, state and local jurisdiction rules and regulations.
  • Maintains proficiency and certifications as required for the position.
  • Work with lenders to obtain approvals on the same day the customer signs the vehicle contract to ensure every deal is funded within 3-5 business days from point of sale.
  • Follow up with customer’s questions and/or concerns.
  • Accurately audit and document team deals post-sale to analyze for improvements.

Competencies:
  • Knowledge of dealership finance and insurance procedures.
  • Proficient at structuring deals for maximum profitability and minimal risk.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent soft skills, relationship building, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Professional appearance and strong work ethic.
  • Eagerness to improve.

Required Education/Experience/Certifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of automotive financing or 5 years of automotive sales experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Preferred Education/Experience/Certifications:
  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience as a Finance Manager in a dealership environment.
  • F&I Certification.
