OVERVIEW:As the Ambulatory Surgery Center Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the clinical staff within Centurion Surgery Center – Waycross, GA.  This includes managing the clinical staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, adhering to healthcare policies and standards, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide effective, compassionate care. The Nurse Manager will promote a positive work environment, provide leadership, coordinate with surgeons and anesthesia providers, and ensure that patient care standards and ASC protocols are consistently adhered to. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operations of the surgery center, which includes overseeing staffing, scheduling, and the allocation of resources.
  • Supervise the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care by clinical staff.
  • Ensure practices are in compliance with established clinical guidelines, standards, and safety protocols.
  • Respond to and provide directions to patients, physicians, staff, and visitors in a professional manner in all situations, including crises and emergency situations.
  • Address and resolve patient concerns or complaints in a timely manner.
  • Serve as a liaison between the nursing/clinical department and other departments within the organization.
  • Provide updates and reports on unit operations to senior management.
  • Report and address any incidents or concerns that may affect the safety or quality of care.
  • Ensure that adequate clinical resources, equipment, and supplies are available.  
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards (e.g., AAAHC, OSHA, HIPPA), and ASC policies.
  • Manages Risk Management activities, including Peer Review processes, incident reporting, and investigation. 
  • Performs root cause analysis on adverse events in conjunction with the leadership team as needed.
  • Ensures medication safety standards are met. 
  • Ensures all center deadlines are met for all facility operations and functions
  • Maintains facility reporting data as appropriate.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the clinical staff to ensure effective delivery of care.
  • Assist in hiring, training, and evaluating the performance of clinical staff.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement development plans for staff.
  • Foster a positive work environment to enhance staff engagement and retention. 
  • Establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships across the organization. 
  • Ensures appropriate patient emergency readiness, including safe staffing patterns and management of training, equipment, and supplies to support an effective response.
  • Performs other duties as needed to ensure the safety of all patients as well as the efficient operation of the facility.
Education/Licensure/Certification
  • Current and active, unencumbered Registered Nursing License in the state of Georgia.

Preferred Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center or outpatient surgical setting preferred.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of ASC operations, CMS, regulatory requirements, and patient care protocols.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in quality improvement processes and performance management.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
