CNC Operator (Woodworking/Cabinet Shop)

Job Summary:JG Custom Cabinetry & Design is seeking an experienced and skilled CNC Operator to join our growing woodworking and cabinet manufacturing team in Neenah. As a CNC Operator, you will play a crucial role in fabricating high-quality components for custom cabinets, furniture, and fixtures. Your precision, attention to detail, and ability to operate CNC machinery efficiently will contribute to the success of our production process.

Responsibilities:
Machine Setup and Operation:
  • Start machines, adjust controls, and make trial cuts to ensure that machinery operates properly.
  • Load materials onto the machine and ensure proper alignment.
  • Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments during production runs.
Material Cutting and Shaping:
  • Cut, label, and sort parts based on nested sheet specifications. 
  • Operate CNC machinery to create precise cuts, holes, and profiles. 
  • Ensure accurate dimensions and smooth finishes. 
  • Manage remnant material to maximize yield. 
Quality Control:
  •  Perform quality checks on finished components. 
  • Inspect and measure parts to meet design specifications. 
  • Address any discrepancies or defects promptly.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Maintain CNC machines by cleaning and lubricating as the maintenance guide outlines. 
  • Troubleshoot issues related to tooling, programming, or machine performance. 
  • Replace tooling as needed.
Safety and Efficiency:
  •  Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery. 
  • Optimize production efficiency by minimizing downtime and waste.
Collaboration:
  •  Work closely with other team members, including engineers, designers, and other team members. 
  • Communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.

Qualifications:
Experience:
  •  Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience operating CNC woodworking machines. 
  • Familiarity with various CNC software and programming. 
  • Experience with SCM flatbed CNC is ideal but not necessary.
Skills:
  •  Proficient in reading nested cut sheets. 
  • Understanding of G-Code, feed rates, and spindle speeds. 
  • Strong mathematical and measurement skills. 
  • Attention to detail and precision. 
  • Mechanical aptitude.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move materials as needed. 
  • Comfortable working in a shop environment.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical certifications are a plus).
