In-Office Part-Time Construction Estimator (Flexible Schedule)

G-Net Construction is in the midst of another significant growth phase, and we are offering an exciting part-time opportunity for an In-Office Construction Estimator. If you have a passion for construction estimating and want to grow your career while maintaining flexibility,  this role could be for you 
 
You’ll be working on-site at our Staten Island office under the direct mentorship of our experienced team, including our owner, which means you’ll benefit from a significant transfer of industry knowledge. With a flexible schedule that adapts to both your availability and our project needs, you’ll play an essential role in helping us manage projects ranging from small renovations to new construction builds.
 
Compensation: Based on experience. We also offer a 50% split on health insurance.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and coordinate full estimates for projects, including charter schools, non-profit group homes, commercial spaces up to 40,000 SF, religious centers, senior centers, and nursing homes.
  • Conduct detailed review and evaluation of RFPs and subcontractor bids for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform estimate take-offs using Planswift and maintain an updated cost book for materials and labor rates.
  • Manage project leads, active bids, and submitted proposals, ensuring timely submissions.
  • Attend pre-bid walkthroughs and conduct field surveys to capture all necessary measurements and project details.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and subcontractors throughout the bidding process.
  • Follow up on submitted proposals and maintain communication with clients.

Qualifications:
  • Must have at least 5 years of building construction estimating experience across various trades.
  • Intermediate experience with Planswift is a must.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction, including projects like charter schools, religious centers, senior centers, and nursing homes.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and construction estimating software.
  • Must have a valid NYS driver’s license and access to your own vehicle (mileage and tolls will be reimbursed).
  • Excellent communication skills (phone, email and in-person), attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Experience working in an architecture firm or having hands-on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or carpentry skills is a plus.
  • Must be eligible to work legally and on the books. No off-the-books arrangements or “consultant” work
