Job Description:
As a third-grade teacher specializing in Project-Based Learning (PBL) at Falls Lake Academy, you will have the unique opportunity to inspire and challenge young minds through hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences. You will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing interdisciplinary projects that integrate academic content with real-world relevance, fostering a love of learning and inquiry in our students.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement project-based learning (PBL) units aligned with third-grade curriculum standards and school-wide learning objectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary projects that integrate multiple subject areas, such as math, science, language arts, social studies, and the arts.
- Facilitate engaging and interactive lessons that encourage student inquiry, critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including English Language Learners (ELL) and students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes collaboration, respect, and active participation among students.
- Utilize a variety of formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Establish and maintain open communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic achievement.
- Actively participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness and stay abreast of best practices in project-based learning and elementary education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
- North Carolina teaching license or eligibility for reciprocity.
- Previous experience teaching elementary grades, preferably in a project-based learning (PBL) or inquiry-based environment.
- Strong knowledge of third-grade curriculum standards and pedagogical best practices.
- Passion for innovative teaching methods and a commitment to student-centered learning.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive school community.
