Position Overview:Wheatland Construction, LLC is seeking a qualified Lead Carpenter to help complete residential construction projects ranging from custom homes, additions and major renovations. The lead will perform & supervise general carpentry work (framing / trim / tile / etc), manage job sites, take ownership of project schedules, material procurement, quality control, and safety protocols.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain on-job efficiency, timeliness and team productivity. Maintain excellence in Wheatland craftsmanship. 
  • Supervise a crew of carpenters and collaborate with project manager and subcontractors to prioritize schedules, ensure projects run smoothly and meet deadlines. 
  • Work with project manager daily to coordinate weekly job schedules & planning for crews
  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
  • Report to Project Managers a/o Sales Managers daily or as needed. Electrical & plumbing help (as needed & permitted under licensing).   Inter-company projects on misc. owner properties as needed. 
  • Maintain good customer relations, employee management, site maintenance, paperwork, planning, supply runs, changes and fixes, punch list items, etc. Daily time tracking of receipts, invoices time & description of work done on projects. 
  • Lead by example, demonstrating exceptional carpentry skills in framing, trim work, installation, and other areas.
  • Maintain a positive and productive work environment, fostering teamwork and effective communication among your crew.
  • Keep the job site clean and the customer’s home and/or property from becoming damaged.  

Qualifications & Skills:
  • At least 5 years of experience as a carpenter, with a proven track record of success.
  • Extensive carpentry skills, with a mastery of various techniques and tools.
  • A trustworthy & reliable team player - with attention to detail 
  • Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate, delegate, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to collaborate effectively with crew members, subcontractors, and clients.
  • A commitment to safety and the ability to enforce safe work practices on the jobsite.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to operate a company vehicle.
  • Technical Requirements:  Use of certain cloud-based apps, Dropbox, Email, Smart Phone, etc.
