About the role:

As the manager of the Application Software team, you will manage the engineers on Lumafield’s frontend, backend, and QA teams. You will work closely with Lumafield’s designers and product managers to scope software projects and ensure they are executed and delivered effectively using Lumafield’s Agile-based SDLC. You will ensure that the SDLC runs smoothly, and that all stakeholders’ inputs are received and outputs are delivered. You’ll work closely with the team to ensure that their work meets our standards of engineering excellence and will provide feedback and guidance from your experience along the way. You’ll guide and coach your team to continuously improve and deliver the world-class solutions which Lumafield is known for.

What you'll do:

  1. Manage Lumafield’s frontend, backend, and QA engineers
  2. Oversee project development and delivery for user-facing software on our Neptune, Triton, and Voyager products
  3. Work closely with product managers and Engineering/Product leadership to align on objectives and deliverables for your team
  4. Oversee, tweak, and run Lumafield’s Agile-based SDLC
  5. Provide high-level architectural and product input as a key stakeholder in our software development process
  6. Get your hands dirty in order to advance strategic initiatives or keep projects on track
  7. Work from our San Francisco, CA office 5 days per week

About you:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field
  2. 10+ years of experience developing software
  3. 5+ years of experience in developing Python-based backends, React-based frontends, or both
  4. 2+ years of experience managing software teams, ideally at startups
  5. 2+ years of experience in a cloud-based software role with architectural responsibilities
  6. 2+ years of startup experience
  7. AWS experience
