Job Description:

Experience:

  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in the DevOps industry, working with a variety of tools including Unix, Linux, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and New Relic.
  • Extensive experience in creating CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with automation and monitoring systems, including incident management, root cause analysis, performance and reliability, capacity planning, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
  • Implementation of security best practices, including vulnerability management and collaboration with development teams to ensure secure CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with state-level security requirements and ensuring compliance.
  • Experience with on-premises environments and legacy tools, including air-gapped environments and hybrid setups involving both on-premise and cloud components.
  • Familiarity with GitHub, including setting up GitHub actions, creating CI/CD pipelines using Harness, and onboarding users.
  • Administrative experience with tools like Nexus, JIRA, and Jenkins (including CloudBees Jenkins).
  • Experience with code scanning tools like SonarQube.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and draw accurate and relevant conclusions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience leading discussions involving senior-level technical SMEs from Application and Infrastructure teams.
  • Demonstrated experience as a technical Player/Lead - Hands-on the keyboard engineer who pulls work 50% of the capacity and 50% as a technical mentor for the other engineers.
  • Ability to classify maintenance work vs project work, accurately estimate them.
  • Determine robust support models to define intake, refine runbooks for version updates, patches, break-fixes, bug-fixes, deployment windows across QA and Prod.
  • Create and maintain operational plans with SLAs, planned/unplanned outage communications, KPIs, and help set that up.
  • Agile, collaborative, and consultant mindset who can play well with the team, meet where the client is currently, and evolve their DevOps platform over time.
  • JIRA Administration Experience (onboarding new people, upgrades, non-cloud-based administration).
  • Familiarity with testing tools such as IBM OPTIM, Virtual Data Pipeline, Tosca, and Plutora.


Role and Responsibilities:

Develop, build, test, and deploy DevOps tools to create consistent, verifiable, and automatic management of application and infrastructure within the Grid domain.

Work on the CI/CD deployment by collaborating with cross-functional teams including domain architects, application, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and other subject matter experts. Requires coming up to speed rapidly with the SCE organization and key stakeholders.

Design and implement tool integration with existing tools such as Remedy, Splunk, etc. within the DevOps platform.

Gather and analyze requirements and develop test plans for solution validation.

Review and enhance comprehensive best practices and setup process standards for maintenance and operations of the DevOps frameworks.

Train and guide the team with streamlined DevOps best practices.

Support onboarding and operations of client applications that will utilize the DevOps platform for their Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery.

Develop and publish monthly metrics and reporting to measure efficiencies and overall DevOps Platform cycle improvements.

Ensure familiarity with Nexus Repository Manager and Nexus IQ for cybersecurity scanning.

Communicate with users about maintenance windows and potential outages using JIRA tickets and global emails.

Follow vendor documentation for tool upgrades and test upgrades before implementation to avoid impacting users.
